Amazon Web Services Partners with WAX Blockchain for Streamlined Web3 Development
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has formed a partnership with the WAX blockchain, aimed at simplifying the integration of Web3 features for developers. This collaboration will see the Amazon Managed Blockchain service incorporate WAX’s extensive range of Web3 tools. WAX, which stands for Worldwide Asset Exchange, is a blockchain ecosystem that focuses on gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The Amazon Managed Blockchain service is designed to assist developers in creating robust, decentralized applications (dApps) on both public and private blockchains, providing seamless and serverless access to diverse decentralized networks without the need for specialized infrastructure.
Streamlined Node Deployment for Developers
Previously, developers wishing to incorporate Web3 functionalities faced the daunting task of either manually deploying their own nodes—a process often fraught with complexity and time consumption—or relying on existing node providers, which meant relinquishing some control over their infrastructure. With the new integration into AMB, WAX enables developers to set up their nodes with just a few clicks via the AWS console, making the deployment process significantly more efficient. Once deployed, developers can utilize their WAX nodes to innovate and develop on the WAX blockchain, as well as engage with both mainnet and testnets without additional complications.
Comprehensive Tools for Web3 Development
To further facilitate the onboarding experience, WAX provides developers, studios, and companies with a comprehensive array of tools and solutions designed to enhance the Web3 development journey. This suite includes features such as a Cloud Wallet, single-sign-on (SSO) capabilities, OAuth, a native random number generator, a dedicated developer portal, a cross-chain bridge, and a blockchain explorer. In a statement, Lukas Sliwka, CTO of WAX, remarked that this partnership marks a significant progression toward widespread adoption of Web3, making it easier for both blockchain-native and traditional Web2 developers to create applications on the WAX blockchain or infuse decentralized features into their existing projects.
Support for Diverse Development Needs
As an official Amazon Solutions Provider, WAX is positioned to offer developers valuable resources, including guidebooks and materials that assist in navigating the complexities of Web3 development. This integration not only benefits blockchain-native developers but also empowers traditional Web2 developers to swiftly incorporate decentralized elements into their projects, which may encompass Web3 games, digital asset marketplaces, fungible and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), as well as various dApps.
Enhancing the Digital Landscape through Collaboration
Dimitri Nikolaros from BountyBlok, a notable block producer on WAX, expressed that while Web3 is rapidly growing and transforming the digital landscape, it should not develop independently. By merging the strengths of blockchain technology with established Web2 frameworks, developers stand to gain access to the best of both worlds, thereby accelerating the creation of next-generation applications powered by the extensive cloud computing capabilities provided by AWS.
WAX Blockchain: A Hub for Gaming and E-Commerce
WAX’s tailored tools and incentive structures are crafted to enhance the functionality of blockchain technology in gaming, e-commerce, and digital collectibles trading. Currently, over 140 Web3 games have chosen WAX as their foundational platform. The blockchain boasts more than two million Unique Active Wallets and has processed over 300 million transactions in just the past month. Notably, this collaboration with AWS builds upon WAX’s existing relationship with Amazon; recently, the WAX-based trading card game Brawlers, created by the renowned Richard Garfield of Magic: The Gathering fame, was integrated into the Amazon Prime Gaming service, joining other well-known Web2 games such as Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Exclusive Benefits for Prime Gaming Subscribers
As part of this collaboration, Prime Gaming subscribers can now access free WAX accounts and enjoy monthly opportunities to receive exclusive in-game items in Brawlers, including themed card sets celebrating holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
